Course Synopsis: Hazardous Chemical Agents (HCA) Training Course
The Hazardous Chemical Agents Training Course is designed to equip workers, supervisors, and SHEQ professionals with the essential knowledge and skills to identify, handle, store, and manage hazardous chemical agents in accordance with the latest Hazardous Chemical Agents Regulations, 2021 under the South African Occupational Health and Safety Act.
This course provides critical insight into the safe use of chemicals in the workplace, emphasizing legal compliance, health risk prevention, emergency response, and exposure control strategies. Assessments for this course are built into the material.
Key Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand the legal framework governing hazardous chemical agents in South Africa
Identify various hazardous chemicals using Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and GHS labelling
Describe routes of exposure and associated health effects
Implement safe storage, handling, and disposal practices
Apply exposure control measures, including ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE)
